Planning

The Sabin Vaccine Institute is a respected intermediary, promoting important advances in the science and implementation of vaccine use. In hiring an Executive Director, the board asked me to direct a planning process to help them set priorities among several program options.

"Working with the Board leadership, Michael Davidson served as
a capable, intelligent facilitator for a full day strategic
planning retreat. It was my observation that Mr.Davidson
was successful in providing guidance to the Board in a professional and personable manner."

Fran Sonkin, Executive Vice President

Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.) is an organization of the leading manufacturers and retailers of children's clothing, furnishings and toys. It donates over $20 million of new products to children in need throughout the U.S. The Board has been seeking to enlist other suppliers to broaden the inventory of products they could supply.

I led a board retreat to obtain agreement on the actions board members would take, to achieve this goal. By the conclusion, members accepted specific assignments and the board agreed on a system for reporting and responsibility.

The interim Chairman of the Department of Medicine of the New Jersey Medical School, wanted to obtain departmental consensus on actions to improve patient care, teaching and research in the department. I worked with faculty committees to develop their proposals, and facilitated a retreat for the entire faculty to evaluate the proposals and create an agenda for action.
