Can a consultant get more money for the organization?

No! Resource development is building relationships, whether with governmental agencies, foundations , corporations or individuals. These relationships must be with the organization. While there are many ways in which a consultant can help the organization to improve its funding, the ultimate responsibility is with the organization because it will have to nurture and build these relationships.

How can a consultant help?

There are numerous ways in which a consultant can help the organization to expand its resource base. These include:

  • Work with the Executive Director and the Board to establish a realistic development plan.
  • Identify potential governmental and foundation supporters.
  • Write grant proposals and responses to RFPs
