Management Support

How is management support different from interim management?

Management support begins with an analysis of the needs of the organization. The goal is not to provide temporarily needed services, but rather to assess the strength of the management and organizational structures and procedures.

How is a management assessment accomplished?

The consultant would gather information on the operation of the organization from many different perspectives, including management, staff, Board, clients and other stakeholders. The assessment could be directed at specific areas such as financial management ort human resources, or could be more broadly directed at management systems. A report would be provided with options for the Executive Director and the Board to implement.

Would the consultant implement the recommendations?

Ideally, any agreed changes would be implemented by organizational management. In certain circumstances, where there is a transitional need for assistance, the consultant, acting as an interim manager, could be assigned responsibility for aspects of the implementation.
